This past year has been the best year yet! It has been absolutely amazing and I had the chance to experience so many new things and go on so many new adventures. From studying abroad for an entire semester in England to volunteering during spring break for Hurricane Harvey relief. Being able to grow deeper in community with some amazing friends and being able to make new friends as well. I also studied and took the MCAT and am starting to apply to medical school. This school year has brought about so much growth, here are some of the truths I learned.
When I first flew out to England, I never thought I would learn as much as I did. This year I took a lot of time to spend time with myself and get to know who I am and what I want out of this life. I was stretched beyond belief being away from everything that I was comfortable with and I learned that something you need to be uncomfortable so that you be pushed and grow. This next year is my last year as a undergrad student. My goal is to just continue growing and learning more about who I am and grow deeper with the amazing people around me.
- It is okay to not have your life put together, spoiler alert no one actually does
- Some people are only in your life for a season not a lifetime, take time to figure out who in your life is there for the long run
- Technology can be absolutely amazing but super dangerous, use when necessary, but don’t become too reliant
- Ohio’s weather is beyond unpredictable, dress in layers and always have a backup umbrella
- People are much more similar than different, embrace the similarities and learn from each other’s differences
- Community is one of the most vital things in your life, having a healthy and honest group of people surrounding and pushing will change your life
- Friends are family that you choose
- It’s a VERY small world, you don’t know who you are going to run into or who’s going to pop back into your life
- The world is so much bigger than you think it is, take time to go and explore new places
- YOU are so much more than you think you are, don’t sell yourself short
